At a glance

  • Duration: 2 days / 1 night
  • Destinations: Zagora (Draa Valley dunes)
  • Pickup: Marrakech
  • Group: Private — shaped around your group
  • Often best: October–April, when desert days are warm and nights are crisp

The experience

Not everyone has four days for Merzouga. Zagora is the closer dunes — a long first day south through the Atlas and the Draa Valley, then sunset over the sand and a night in a desert camp.

It’s a lot of road in two days, honestly. But for a tight itinerary, it’s the difference between seeing the desert and only hearing about it.

Tell us your date and we confirm everything in writing — route, services, and pricing — before anything is booked.

Good to know

  • Day 1 is a long drive — this trip suits travelers comfortable with that trade-off
  • Zagora’s dunes are smaller than Erg Chebbi’s; the experience is the desert night itself
  • Desert nights are cool October–April; pack a warm layer
  • Children welcome — tell us ages so the pace fits

Frequently asked questions

How does this trip work?

Send an inquiry with your dates and group size. We connect you with an appropriate verified local specialist, who confirms the 2-day Zagora routing and sends a free written itemized quote before anything is arranged.

How do I book?

Send an inquiry and receive a free written itemized quote. Nothing is booked or charged until you approve it.

When do I pay?

Only after you approve your written quote, on the terms it lists. No payment before your explicit approval.

What is included?

Your written quote lists exactly what’s included — transport, camp stay, meals, activities — line by line. Anything not listed is not included.

Is two days enough for the desert?

It’s a real taste: one night under desert skies with long driving days on either side. If you want the towering Erg Chebbi dunes and a slower pace, consider the 3-day Merzouga option.

How much driving is involved?

A lot — Zagora is reached via the High Atlas and Draa Valley, which is scenic but means full days on the road. Your quote notes the routing so you can judge the pace.

Is it suitable for kids?

The long drives can be tiring for young children. Share ages in your inquiry and your specialist will advise honestly whether this pace suits your family.

Can I customize it?

Yes — adjust stops, pacing, or combine it with other plans. Your specialist revises the itinerary and sends an updated written quote.
